The Junior Naturalist program at Wascana Centre was established in the fall of 2009. The purpose of the program is to allow children to experience nature based activities. With the increase in all things electronic, many youth are becoming disconnected from the natural environment around them. The Friends of Wascana Marsh (The Friends) support the program by donating funds for the naturalist programs in Wascana Centre. This helps to support one of our missions - to provide outdoor, nature-based educational and interpretive opportunities.
Learn more about the program by heading to Wascana centre’s website.
Currently the naturalist position is held by Sarah Turkeli. Find out more about Sarah by going to http://www.wascanamarsh.ca/about-us/wca-ecologist
