History of Wascana Marsh

The first dam to store water in Wascana Creek in present day Regina was built in the 1880s. In the ensuing decades, a number of construction projects were undertaken to widen and deepen Wascana Creek and Lake to enhance water storage. In 1931, a government sponsored Public Works Project included the drainage and deepening of Wascana Lake. Wascana Lake was again drained and deepened in 2004. continue >>>
